February Conference

The February Rotary Conference is coming this weekend, and I am so excited for it! This conference, I will be spending it with my exchange student, Florencia, and also with the knowledge of my country! I'm very nervous for the speech part, though, because I have to give it entirely in Portuguese. I have to say my name, my Rotary Club, and what I am looking forward to in my exchange. I know for sure I can say my name, "Meu nome é Levi," but I am not so sure of what to say for the rest of it! I'll get it down, though. I've been spending a lot of time trying to learn Portuguese, but it turns out to be more different than Spanish then I thought! I'm so excited to see everybody again at the conference. I'll also get to talk with the other 5 students going to Brazil, and also with Bruno and the other inbound students from Brazil! I'm so glad I can talk with people from Brazil to help me out with the language and culture.

Lately, I have been thinking about all of the "lasts" I will be having. Just last night, I was at Spree: my last dance in the USA before I head off for next year. I also just had my last pep band night and my last words hurt week at school. It has got me thinking about all of the "lasts" that I will have in the future... last day of school, last day in the USA, and last time seeing my friends and family. Even with all of the "lasts," I am excited to have all of my "firsts." First time flying alone, first time in Brazil, first time seeing my host family, first day of Brazilian school, etc....

The wait is so long, and I am getting more excited with every day that passes! I guess that means that I get more time to practice Portuguese, though.
